Our Director Mike Tornstrom has a very progressive group of volunteer attendants. The nearest hospital is 20 miles away, with advanced life support provided by Tri-State ambulance out of La Crosse, WI. We would like to thank the Caledonia Ambulance service for being one of the best services in the area.

Caledonia Ambulance Training Department
As a licensed training center through the state of Minnesota, the Caledonia Ambulance Training Department is recognized as a leader in EMS education in the southeast Minnesota region. Caledonia Ambulance provides many educational opportunities including the following classes and courses:
- American Heart Association CPR and First Aid classes
- E.M.R. Emergency Medical Responder initial and refresher courses
- E.M.T. Emergency Medical Technical initial and refresher courses
- C.E.V.O. Emergency Vehicle Operations
- Blood Borne Pathogens Education

The Community Development Office and the Economic Development Authority (EDA) can offer low interest loans, tax abatement, tax increment financing and in some cases grant money. If you have questions about Caledonia and the surrounding area please give us a call.
The Caledonia EDA meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 1:00 p.m. in the Caledonia City Council Chambers.

The Caledonia Fire Department was established in 1889 and has a Class 4 ISO rating. The district is about 140 square miles and protects about 5,500 residents. The department's 34 members are ready 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and respond to approximately 60 calls each year. Types of calls include structure fires, wildland fires, search and rescue, motor vehicle accidents, motor vehicle fires, carbon monoxide alarms, and hazardous materials incidents. The department has two engines, one rescue engine, one tower truck, two tankers, one brush truck, and one UTV. In October of each year members participate in Fire Prevention Week, providing fire safety and prevention information to elementary school students. The department is always accepting applications for those interested in becoming a firefighter.

The Caledonia Police Department prides itself on being a community orientated department. Working closely with youth and city residents to ensure the future and safety of the Caledonia Area. Dogs and cats both need licenses inside the City limits of Caledonia. You can obtain the licenses at the Caledonia Police Department. Licenses cost $10.00 and you have to have proof of your pet's shots when you apply for the license. IF YOUR LICENSE IS NOT OBTAINED BEFORE JANUARY 1 A LATE FEE OF $2.00 WILL BE ASSESSED STARTING JANUARY 1 AND EVERY MONTH THEREAFTER. A CITATION MAY ALSO BE ISSUED.

The Electric Department is owned and operated by the City of Caledonia. Matt Blocker and Nathan Becker are the electricians. To contact them you can either call the shop at (507) 725-3323 or the City Clerk's office at (507) 725-3450. In the event of a power outage and it's after hours or on the weekends, please call Matt Blocker directly at (507) 458-5715, otherwise please call City Hall during normal working hours.
Water / Sewer Department
You can contact the Caledonia Water and Sewer Department at (507) 725-3402 or you can call the City Clerk's Office at (507) 725-3450 and leave a message for them. If you notice a lift station light/siren going off and it's after working hours, please call at 725-3379 and press 1 to speak with dispatch. They will page out the water/sewer department personnel to resolve the problem.
