Houston County will be starting a street rehabilitation project on County State Aid Highway 3 (a/k/a Main Street) on May 13, 2019. The project is expected to be completed by August 6, 2019. During this time Houston County will be installing new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps at pedestrian crossings along County State Aid Highway 3. The ramps on the north side of the street will be completed first, and then work will shift to the south side of the street.
The project will also include making limited sidewalk repairs and adding curb extensions (a/k/a bumpouts) in front of Caledonia Elementary School to enhance pedestrian safety.
The final portion of the project will involve milling the top layer of the road and adding a new layer of bituminous pavement.
If you have any questions or concerns about the project, please contact Houston County Engineer Brian Pogodzinski or Houston County Engineering Supervisor Justin Conway at 725-3925.
